The People

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is made up of 25 incorporated cities and towns within Maricopa County, the Gila River Indian Community, the Salt-River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, Maricopa County, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), and the Citizens Transportation Oversight Committee (CTOC).

In 2002, MAG formed the Transportation Policy Committee (TPC) to develop a new Regional Transportation Plan to guide transportation investments for the next 20 years. The 22-member committee includes representatives from cities and towns across the region, the business community, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Maricopa County, the freight industry, transit, and the Citizens Transportation Oversight Committee.

During the development of the Regional Transportation Plan, more than 150 public input opportunities and 180 stakeholder meetings were held to gather input and comments from transportation users. The input collected was considered by the TPC in the development of the new Plan.
